A woman is walking through a park, and finds Picasso sitting at a bench. She approaches him, asks him if he would draw her a sketch. He agrees, and the elated woman hands him a pencil and some paper. Picasso looks at the woman for some moments, then creates a sketch using a single stroke of the pencil. He hands it to the woman.

“That’s remarkable!” She says. “It encapsulates everything about me.”

Pleased, Picasso says “That will be $5,000.”

“$5,000, but it only took you seconds to draw it!” The woman says.

Picasso replies: “My dear, it’s taken me my whole life.”
