How To Avoid Nightmare Clients . . .

How to Avoid “Nightmare” Clients with Chris Haddad aka “Mr. Moneyfingers” from Jeffrey Pezzella on Vimeo.

Hey folks,

This is a video interview I did with my friend (and fellow Massachusetts boy) Jeffrey Pezzella. Jeff wanted to know some of my “secret strategies” for picking out great clients . . . so we hopped on skype and I spilled the beans.

Check it out.

I aspire to being able to afford your services!

In the meantime, I gotta start charging for my services. I’ve been trying to build business by “free line services.”

Doesn’t work. People use me up, don’t even get a recommendation or testimonial. No worries, live and learn! I’m starting in a new business anyway, so I am building my skill set and building confidence as well.

Your comments about putting oneself in a position of low power really resonates with me. I do it all the time. Don’t know how to stop doing it. I would consider paying money to learn how to get out of this habit. Measuring results might be a problem.

You rock! Thanks so much for this! I’ve been dealing with some nightmare clients recently and I’ve just reached the point that I want to get better at choosing my clients.

I love the idea of asking yourself “can they do this themselves, but they know I can do it better” – pearls of wisdom!

    Thanks again!

I work in the arts, among other things. My clients tend to say “I love what you do!!” If they demure at my prices, I say “This is what I have to charge in order to do what you love”.

If that doesn’t work, they aren’t a client. It really can be that simple.

Hey, Chris. We met through Neil and hit clubs a couple of times… Awesome site

Always interested to hear your thoughts, Chris.
Truly, it is a matter of confidence and self-worth.

    Tick ‘identification’ off the list.

Now, what should we do with those nightmare clients once the project has begun? How do/did you mitigate the ‘damage’?

I’m looking forward to your insight.

Chris "Mr. Moneyfingers" Haddad... Results-based marketing consultant, frankly-awesome direct response copywriter, strangely good dancer, capitalist hippie and all around great guy. On this site he shares all sorts of tips and tricks on how to make good money in bad times... opines fiercely on things that matter to him and occasionally goes a tad bit nuts. Plus he can do that thing with his eyebrow.
