“Guerilla” Critique of MassageEnvy.com

Check out this “Guerilla” critique I did of http://www.MassageEnvy.com.

What makes it “Guerilla” is that the fine folks at Massage Envy didn’t actually ask me to critique their site.

It’s just that I’m such a big fan of their service that I think their website needs a proper savaging.

The video is only about 10 minutes long, butI cover a lot of ground in it and reveal a lot of my own techniques for getting into the head of your market, avoiding “false” benefits and pushing your prospects towards a powerful call to action.

    Great critique! I looked at the site and it is very corporate with nothing speaking to me. After listening to you speak of the benefits I will probably sign up as it sounds great. Listen to Chris MassageEnvy!! Adding cold hard cash to your pocket’s is another relaxing type of therapy :)

    Thanks, Justine. It’s always really amazing to me how lame and off-message the Massage Envy marketing is. GREAT service, and even just a simple video on the home page leading towards an online appt setter would do wonders for them.

    Great Guerilla critique–keep them coming!

    I liked that you had a simple theme and demonstrated it over and over–in this case, the site is designed to do something (focus on bennies, or SEO perhaps), but doesn’t do anything useful. And you make it very clear what useful would be and what it could look like.

    I’d take three ten-minute tightly-focused critiques over one highly-detailed half-hour critique any day. A nice conceptual framework in the beginning followed by details works great. Now I can look at websites from the same perspective.

    This will be very, very helpful over the next few weeks as I work with my business coach and web designer in putting together my new site.
