My husband and I mourned Billy Mays in a deep way. Deeper than the death of a cancer-ridden celebrity, than that of a pop star whose spirit had long gone, and than that of a very elderly statesman.

Billy was still in the upswing of his career. We loved Pitchmen. We truly respected his deep friendship with Anthony Sullivan and how Billy really wanted to help other little guys make the big time.

He was a generous soul and a force to be reckoned with. It feels as if he's gone too soon.

Yeah, actually this celebrity death was more sad to me than the others. Billy just seemed like a really great guy. And, all that I read about him in the last few days just confirmed that. He will be missed, for sure. What a personality and presence! Good post.
