My setup is pretty simple.

Software: I use a product called screenflow (http://www.telestream.net/screen-flow/overview.htm) to capture what’s going on on my screen. Screenflow is loaded up with cool features (you can do zooms, pans, put in cool highlights and a bunch of other stuff) and I really only use a 10th of it’s power. Good stuff.

Mic is a Audio Technica AT2020 USB mic. I used to have a whole mic-mixer setup, but I find the AT202 is much lower Hassle and actually gets better results.

Camera wise, I’m just using the iSight camera on the top of my laptop. I’ve got an external monitor that I hook my laptop to when I’m at the office, so the camera is off to my left. Since I’m capturing the images on my main screen, it gives the effect that the on-camera “Me” is looking at the screen as opposed to looking directly at the audience the whole time. I dig it. =-)

I think you were right on the money (no pun intended) in your evaluation of the site.

Personal question. Would you mind sharing with us (me really) the software tools you have used to produce the video with you in the corner while showing your subject screen? I really feel like I was with you in a room while you were talking to me directly. It was engaging I’m sure because of your conversational style, but what is your hardware software set up to create such a great video.

I realize of course, that someone else using the same tools would probably not come off as good because they don’t have the gift of great gab like you do.
